The MAC has a long and rich history in St. Louis, dating back to its establishment in 1903. The MAC has been an influential organization in the St. Louis community, hosting dignitaries and athletes for the 1904 Olympics and World’s Fair. Tennis at the MAC predates the purchase of the West Clubhouse, but it began to flourish thanks to today’s expansive facility.
During the 1950’s the Downtown Clubhouse became a hub for various tennis classes, the with kids program emerging as the most popular offering. Today, the MAC offers a variety of racquet-sports, including badminton, squash, pickleball and racquetball.
The professional tennis staff at the MAC is equipped to assist adults of all skill levels through varied private lessons and programs. The Junior Tennis Program is designed to promote a fun learning environment that helps youth grow as players and people. Additionally, the MAC also has an Athletic Hall of Fame, established in 1993, which serves to honor members who have made notable contributions to their respective fields or have significantly influenced the development of athletics within the Club.
