The Missouri Athletic Club has long been a gathering place for civic and business leaders, fostering dialogue, building relationships, and encouraging fellowship. For over a century, the Downtown Clubhouse has been a cornerstone of these activities, maintaining a strong and influential presence in the heart of St. Louis at the northeast corner of the central business district. The Club's members have a rich history of supporting the St. Louis community, beginning with participating in the 1904 Olympics. This tradition continues today through the MAC Sports Foundation and the Charitable Society for Children, recognizing outstanding athletic achievement and giving back to the community.
The MAC’s legacy extends far beyond athletics. The Club is deeply committed to strengthening community partnerships and expanding its impact across St. Louis, with a particular focus on the City of St. Louis, where the MAC was founded in 1903. Through the Civic Engagement Initiative, the MAC prioritizes collaboration with city leaders, partners, and programs that drive growth, progress, and success within the City of St. Louis. These efforts specifically target areas such as Education and Talent, Economic Development, Social Services, and Public Safety, focusing on the downtown neighborhoods and districts.
