Nominate a special charity to receive donations from the MAC Charitable Society for Children (CSC) in 2023 by Friday, Oct. 28. Since its inception in 2005, the CSC has donated more than $400,000 to 45 children’s charities from the St. Louis Area. For the 2023 year, three charities will be chosen based on the recommendations of the CSC.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m.
 
To be eligible for nomination, the charity must be:

•  Local to the St. Louis metropolitan area (Missouri or Illinois)
•  Non-denominational
•  Family-oriented with emphasis on service to children
•  For human welfare (not animals)

To be considered for a nomination, please include the following documentation in your submission:

•  A one-page fact sheet about the charity
•  A copy of the organization’s IRS letter of determination as a 501(c)3
•  A copy of the organization’s most recent Form 990 that was submitted to the IRS (excluding schedules and attachments)
•  A completed budget showing how the CSC’s donation will be spent

Without this documentation, a charity cannot be considered for nomination. Part of the vetting process includes accessing the St. Louis BBB website to review each charity's status.
 
Each nominating MAC Member or MAC Employee must give a five-minute presentation on behalf of that charity to the CSC selection committee on Monday, Nov. 14, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at the MAC Charitable Society for Children meeting.
 
Please note few technical points:

•  MAC Members who are also employed by a nominated charity may not present on behalf of a charity.
•  If a CSC Committee Member nominates a charity, they may not vote in the selection process.
• At the end of the presentations, the CSC Committee will discuss the charities and rank them in order of preference.
•  The ranking of the top six charities will be submitted for consideration, and the final selection of the three charities to be supported in 2023 will be decided in late November.
